Max Rebo, is a Ortolan, a species with large ears and trunk-like appendages native to the planet Orto.
As a talented musician, Max played the Red Ball Organ, a unique instrument, and led his band, the Max Rebo Band in various performances across the galaxy. The band's most notable gig was at Jabba the Hutt's palace on Tatooine, where they provided entertainment for the crime lord's clientele.
